Eanna was an ancient Sumerian temple in Uruk. The temple was considered the residence of Innanna and Anu, the goddess of love and beauty and the supreme deity in Sumerian mythology, respectively. The temple is an incredibly important site in ancient texts as it is mmentioned several times in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
